1. What this page is

Germany's Digitale-Dienste-Gesetz (DDG) §5 — which replaced the identical duty in the former Telemediengesetz (TMG) §5 — and Austria's E-Commerce-Gesetz (ECG) §5 require a commercial online-service provider to keep certain identifying facts permanently and easily accessible, wherever that duty applies. Whether it applies to Hopp — whether the operator is established in, or markets the Service to, Germany or Austria — has not been decided. This page states the facts below regardless of that answer, because they are true independently of it, and it does not itself assert that either law applies.

4. Register entry

Registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KVK) under number 83082824. VAT identification number NL003772511B93.

5. Regulatory information

Hopp requires no sector-specific licence or supervisory authorisation to operate: it is a media player for content the user already has the right to use, and it neither selects, hosts, nor organises any content of its own — so it is not an audiovisual media service provider under either law. Hopp is not a regulated profession, so no professional chamber, title or rules apply.

6. Contents

This page identifies the provider. It is not the Privacy Policy, the Terms of Service, or the notice-and-takedown process — see those pages for how Hopp handles your data, the contract you accept, and how to report infringing content.
